Bluum featured in award winning development at the 2023 Master Builder Awards
Our living green roof cycle and bin stores were a feature in an award-winning sustainable development by Essex-based E.O Jones & Sons.
E.O. Jones & Sons took home the top prize in the Central Sustainability category for their work on a pair of 19th century semi-detached properties.
A key part of the development included making sure the external features were also eco-friendly which is where Bluum came in.
All of our products are built using high quality timber from a sustainable source.
But crucially, a green living roof provides a heap of other environmental benefits.
We all need to play our part in creating a better habitat for wildlife in our outdoor spaces, and green roof helps do just that by attracting bees, birds and insects.
Not to mention the benefits having a green roof makes towards combating climate change in maximising the amount of green space you can create and helping to absorb pollutants.
The bin store in E.O Jones & Sons' development also makes a prominent feature of the recycling store, encouraging people to remember to recycle their household waste.
The award judges called the project a 'very well-executed EnerPhit project that succeeded in its aims and should inspire others to follow its low-carbon, energy-efficient principles.'
