Bluum Stores hand-make each green roof project to the customer's specification, to ensure that it meets the required size and style, and fits in well with both their garden and lifestyle.. and pets! Every one has been different in some way, and although a little more expensive than an 'off the shelf' solution, each is made with passion and care from high quality materials. All are built to last.
Below is a selection of the different 'one off' projects we have made and installed to date.
A custom-made shed / garden room, designed to be an attractive and useful addition to the garden. Very different to the average 'shed', this was clad in strips of pressure treated timber, over black painted hardwood plywood sheets and battens. We also installed the French doors and windows:
A bespoke sustainable rabbit hutch, designed for the owners to grow the rabbits' herbs in the roof. The customers had previously bought a normal rabbit hutch, which after time had started to look a little worse for wear due to being made from flimsy materials. We designed and installed this very unique rabbit hutch with style, sustainability, safety and sturdiness in mind:
Made from rustic oak, a small storage unit designed to house the cat's litter tray (with a side access panel next to the cat flap) and other smaller garden items. This customer had recently had new decking and seating installed in their garden, and so wanted their Bluum Store to be made from matching materials. The green roof planter is fully lined, and includes free capillary matting to help keep the plants moist:
A wall hung unit with 'growing roof' area: this small cabinet was made for a customer who wanted to hide away their hose reel and outdoor tap, as well as have a green roof (soon to be filled with succulents and herbs) to give a nicer view from their utility room window. The unit is made from pressure treated, tongue and groove softwood to ensure a long life, protection from the elements and a smart appearance.
Some custom-made planters were requested by a customer, to sit on top of and behind their front wall. We fixed these in place, lined them and the customer did an impressive job of planting them up!
We supplied the wooden planter for this customer to add to their own slate house sign. Filled with alpines, this makes a welcoming addition to their beautiful country home:
Another project for GreenBird Gardening; here we made a bespoke cover unit for three very tired looking old gas meter boxes, next to the front door of a beautiful Victorian building in Bristol. The front of the unit flips down to provide easy access to read the meters:
