Each item is designed and made to order, from our Bristol-based workshop. We use responsibly sourced materials, precision tools and a whole lot of time and effort to create each product.
Every piece is held together using top quality exterior fixings and glues, to ensure a long life in unpredictable weather conditions and under day-to-day use.
Free Delivery & Easy Assembly
Delivery is included for all goods, and all larger items are sent in panels via private courier to ensure the greatest care is taken with your new Bluum product.
Full instructions are included, printed in full colour with easy-to-follow steps for a stress-free experience. Assembly of our larger products should take up to 30-45 minutes, requiring common tools and no prior experience.

Are these made in the UK?
Yes! All products are proudly and lovingly made in the UK. This includes ALL of our ranges: bin & recycling storage, bike & scooter shelters, log & firewood storage, compost bins, garden planters, water butt planters, living wall planters, dipping tanks, wildflower products and more.
Can I paint it?
Once fully dry, the wood can be stained or painted with a suitable exterior wood product.
Your new Bluum Stores garden store, bin & recycling store, bike shelter, log store or timber compost bin is made with pressure treated redwood; this is designed for a long life outdoors as well as a beautiful appearance. This wood can appear a little damp when it first arrives (from the treatment process), so it is best to allow your bin & recycling store, bike store or log store to dry fully before painting or staining it.
Adding some colour to your new wheelie bin & recycling store, bike shelter or log store can help to match it in with the other colours in your garden design. If you choose to leave your wheelie bin & recycling store, bike shelter or log store its natural colour, it will still blend in to any outdoor setting. The timber tends to 'silver' over time, giving it a beautiful and natural look.
Do I need to treat or stain the wood before assembly?
No, the store is constructed from pressure-treated redwood timber, designed for a long life outside. There is no immediate need to use any treatment/stain unless you wish to change the colour of the wood to suit your outside space. We do recommend that it is given an extra regular coat of exterior timber preservative in the future, to help it stay in great shape for many years to come.

How do I use the compost bin?
Take off the lid (top tier) of the beehive style compost bin to insert compost materials.
When enough is in there, the stackable design of the beehive style compost bin allows you to mix the compost well:
- Remove the top lid and the tier below, place next to the rest of the compost bin
Fork some of the contents out into the new stack
- Remove another tier, place on top of the new stack, and fork more contents into this
- Mix it up well
- Mix up the remaining contents of the original stack, being careful not to damage the liner in the bottom tier
- Put the mixed contents of the new stack back into the original stack, replacing a tier at a time
- Replace the lid
This will allow the compost to mix well and produce a greater quality of compost, from your beehive style compost bin.
What wood is this made from?
All of the Bluum Original timber products (including bin & recycling storage, bike & scooter shelters, log stores and the beehive style compost bins and garden planters) are made with pressure treated redwood cladding.
This durable material is not only lovely to look at, it is also treated to withstand the wild variety of weather conditions that we face in the UK. It's designed for a very long life outdoors, with little maintenance.
The timber we use is also much thicker and heavier than that used by many other companies in our sector. It's not cheap, but it is made to last. It is also sourced from FSC and PEFC accredited sources.
Your bin & recycling store, bike & scooter shelter, log store, beehive style compost bin or garden planter is already treated so needs no immediate attention. In the future, it is a good idea to add a regular coat of exterior wood preservative, to help it live for even longer.
